Tee-times:
Members may call the golf shop (508-759-8802/8803) up to one month in advance to make tee-time reservations. Daily reservations are recommended in-season. From November through March (off-season), booking of tee-times will take place on weekends only. Off-season winter weekdays will operate on a first-come first-served basis.
Please identify yourself as a member when phoning golf staff, as well as indicate whether your intentions are to play 9 or 18 holes. Naturally, a follow-up phone call to the shop is appreciated if your plans change. Repeated no-shows or showing up late for tee-times may result in loss of advance reservation privileges.
The public shall have three weeks in advance to make reservations, thus allowing members to access a “clean” tee-time sheet for one additional week before the public begins making tee-times. Our hope is that once the busier summer months arrive, members take advantage of this policy so that your golfing needs are met.
REGISTRATION:
We ask that each and every time you arrive to play golf at Bay Pointe, you sign-in. A Member’s sign-in book will be on the golf shop counter each day.
Associate Members, when paying their applicable daily golf fees will be given a receipt, as will all public golfers. This receipt should be readily accessible for possible Course Starter and/or Ranger review as well as bag tag display.
BAG TAGS FOR 2010
Each Member will be presented a BAG TAG, indicating the type of membership. We ask that all Members affix this tag to their golf bag when playing Bay Pointe to assist new staff as well as new Members to become more acquainted each golfing season.
COMPETITION:
See website and/or bulletin in early Spring regarding Pro-Ams and league play and review the enclosed major tournament schedule.
Tuesday Ladies League will begin again as the spring approaches as well as the Men’s Thursday PM league.
It is important to note that all types of Members are eligible for all events, but Associate and Weekday Members would pay the applicable daily fees on weekends and holidays.
ALL TOURNAMENT NEWS WILL BE POSTED IN A TIMELY FASHION ON THE GOLF SHOP BULLETIN BOARD, INCLUDING ALL SIGN-UP SHEETS.
OUTINGS:
A key ingredient to the success of Bay Pointe as a viable golf facility is the solicitation of group golf business. Our philosophy is to offer golf outings shotgun starts (should their size warrant) seven days a week. From time to time, some outings may be booked on weekend mornings. These will be posted on both the golf shop foyer bulletin boards and on the web site.
When outings are scheduled on weekend afternoons, we will schedule a morning shotgun for Members and/or daily fee golfers.
Please note that when Members elect to enter an outside outing, the outing will be charged for that player.
Outing schedules, though subject to change on an ongoing basis, will be posted in the golf shop, and will be periodically updated on our website: baypointecc.net. To help avoid conflicts, we highly encourage our Members to call the shop to learn of any course closings due to outing reservations on a given day.
PARKING:
Please park in the parking lots at all times. During the season (April thru Oct) THERE WILL BE NO PARKING IN FRONT OF THE GOLF HOUSE. This area’s use is intended for strictly golf cart traffic and delivery trucks.
Parking is also prohibited along the road, or adjacent to the practice area.
Stricter control of handicap parking will be enforced in 2010. Please do not park in these designated areas without proper credentials.
PRACTICE AREA:
Use of the practice area will be limited to Members and Daily Fee Golfers (on that particular day). Use of one’s own practice golf balls (with your own markings) are approved. Please observe roped off areas from time to time by our Superintendent. Hitting balls backward toward the teeing area is prohibited.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate attire is required on the golf course and in the clubhouse at all times. Men: shirts with sleeves are required - cut-off shorts are prohibited. Spikeless shoes are required at all times.
GENERAL CONDUCT:
Management reserves the right to suspend privileges of any member whose conduct negatively affects the enjoyment of fellow members and/or daily fee golfers. This includes conduct in the clubhouse, on the golf course, driving golf carts, and in dealings with golf staff.
Members are prohibited from certain areas in the clubhouse, specifically, behind the bar, kitchen, downstairs, or behind the golf shop counter.
We strongly urge Members not to litter, placing cigarette/cigar butts in proper receptacles, as well as cups, cans, etc.
The golf course maintenance staff shall possess “right of way” at ALL TIMES, when working on the golf course. It is the golfers’ responsibility to allow our outside crew to perform their daily work in a safe, efficient fashion.
GOLF COURSE ETIQUETTE
Members are expected to set example for all golfers who play at Bay Pointe as it relates to standard golf course etiquette. This includes replacing divots, fixing ball marks, raking bunkers, and driving golf carts on approved paths when designated. Respecting our golf course is a key component in reaching our stated goal of improving the condition of the entire facility.
Lastly, consider golf course rangers an extension of senior golf staff on duty in the golf shop, should you or your group be asked to speed up play, improve cart driving behavior or receive related instructions. Rangers shall have the authority to remove players from the golf course should this action be warranted. Management will not tolerate repeated offenses which either damage the golf course or negatively affect fellow golfers.
Fivesomes are prohibited at all times – without golf shop approval.
MGA USGA-GHIN HANDICAP PROCEDURES:
Handicap Service Fees are no longer included in your respective membership payments. 2010 fee: $50 per person. (free for juniors who have not reached their 18 th birthday). Individual golfers will now be responsible for posting their own scores on our new electronic handicap system. Procedures for this will be posted on the handicap bulletin board located adjacent to the computer in the golf shop. Golfers will still be required to turn in signed, attested scorecards. All inside golf staff are trained to assist each of you who require help in learning the handicap process.
For certain major events, the golf staff will enter all scores. You will be informed of this prior to each of these events.
We will continue to use “LOCAL NUMBERS”, for you to access your screen on the computer. However, when traveling and wishing to post an away score right away at an “away” course, you will need to know your GHIN #, but still be required to bring that scorecard back to Bay Pointe on your next visit. AWAY SCORES MAY BE DELETED WITHOUT A CORRESPONDING SIGNED AND ATTESTED SCORECARD SUBMITTED FOR REVIEW.
The handicap review committee consists of T. Tobey, E. Monteiro and R. Pina. Simply put, manipulation of your handicap will not be tolerated and penalties will be swift and severe. Valid handicaps are the foundation of our extensive tournament schedule, and will be monitored accordingly.
Members may print handicap cards at our computer at any time.
